The Sharks moved second in the Super 14 standings with a 22-10 victory over the Western Force on Saturday.
A burst of three tries in 22 minutes from JP Pietersen, Odwa Ndungane and Rory Kockott at the start of the second half secured the South Africans their fifth win from six matches in this season's competition.
The Force led for most of the first period after Matt Giteau kicked an early penalty but did not score again for more than an hour until Scott Staniforth crossed for a late try.
The victory brought an end to the Sharks' tour of Australasia and they return home well placed with six of their remaining seven matches at their home ground in Durban.
"We were under a lot of pressure this week with a lot of people writing us off but it just shows the character of this side," Sharks captain Johann Muller said.
