Worcester Warriors powered to their second successive emphatic European Challenge Cup victory with a 53-17 demolition of Bucuresti in Romania.
The victory, combined with Petrarca's fine win over Bourgoin in France, means that Mike Ruddock's men have taken complete control of the Pool stages.
A brace of early penalties from the boot of fly-half Matthew Jones got the Warriors up and running before former All Black wing Rico Gear crashed over for his first try of the game.
Bucuresti fought back briefly through a penalty and a converted score from Mackerpello, however Worcester raced further ahead when scrum-half Ryan Powell went over and a penalty try made it 25-10 at half-time.
Run riot
Craig Gillies started the ball rolling in the second half as he secured the crucial bonus point for the second successive game early in the second period.
Former New Zealand centre Sam Tuitupou then raced clear for try number five before Gear grabbed his second of the game as Worcester threatened to run riot.
However, the spirited Bucuresti side fought back admirably and got their reward late on when Mackerpello grabbed his second try of the afternoon.
There was still time for one more score and it was Warriors who rightly had the final say when Graham Kitchener charged down a kick and replacement fly-half Joe Carlisle crossed over.
