Castres climbed to third in the Top 14 standings on Tuesday thanks to a 25-21 victory away to Albi in the Tarn derby at the Stadium Municipal d'Albi.
The visitors scored three tries to nil to secure a bonus point but were never able to open up a gap on the hosts, who fought to the bitter end.
Albi, who have won just one match this season (last Friday against Bayonne), will have to settle for a losing bonus point.
Castres, who dominated in every aspect of the game, are now equal on points with second-placed Clermont in the Top 14 standings.
Kiwi full-back Cameron McIntyre put the visitors 13-9 in the lead with a try in the 39th minute, but a drop goal from home scrum-half Boulogne on the stroke of half-time left the scores 13-12 at the break.
However, tries early in the second half at the end of excellent flowing moves from Marc Andreu and then Yoan Audrin were enough to seal victory for Laurent Travers and Laurent Labit's team.
