Ian Madigan kicked 17 points to guide runaway RaboDirect PRO12 leaders Leinster to a 22-6 win over Aironi at the Stadio Zaffanella.
The fly-half slotted over five penalties to keep his side just ahead before successfully converting Noel Reid's interception try in the closing stages.
Madian broke the deadlock after five minutes with his first penalty and further efforts after 27 and 39 minutes put the visitors 9-0 up at the break in Viadana.
However, Aironi got back to within three thanks to second-half penalties from Naas Oliver and Luciano Orquer, raising hopes of an upset.
Yet Leinster were given a little breathing space when Madigan bobbed over a penalty after 67 minutes and soon after Reid sealed the triumph when he picked off a stray pass to grab the only try of the contest.
The victory means Leinster stay well clear of second-placed Ospreys at the top of the table and also saw the 2011 Heineken Cup champions equal Munster's tournament record of 14 games unbeaten, which was set last year.
Aironi, meanwhile, continue to prop up the rest in the table having picked up just three wins from their 16 league games this season.
