Jonas popped up with a dramatic winning goal in the final minute of stoppage time as Valencia scraped to a narrow 1-0 victory at the expense of Granada. With a disappointing game seemingly drawing to a limp conclusion, the Brazilian struck with almost the last kick of the match as he connected with Sergio Canales' low cross to seal a 1-0 triumph. The three points continue Valencia's revival after a difficult start to the season, with the victory the second on the spin for coach Miroslav Djukic, whose position had been called into question after a recent run of three straight league defeats was followed by a 3-0 humbling at home to Swansea in the Europa League. A third win of the campaign will have done much to improve the mood at the Mestalla, however, with Los Che now comfortably sitting in the top half of the standings. Neither side got to grips with the contest in a laboured first period, with a Helder Postiga shot that brought a save out of Granada goalkeeper Roberto the only chance of note. The second half was a far more open affair and with 56 minutes on the clock Granada finally threatened as Yacine Brahimi's effort from six yards forced Diego Alves into a reflex stop. Valencia rallied from that scare and Roberto was soon called into action twice inside 30 seconds as he first punched clear Andres Guardado's drive before getting his body behind a Dorlan Pabon strike. Valencia suffered a blow with 18 minutes left when Postiga was forced off with an injury and replaced by Canales, and it almost got worse for the visitors on 80 minutes when Brahimi again found space in the area but he was denied by the alert Alves. Canales let fly with a shot from 20 yards that had Roberto at full-stretch to turn the ball away, but the home goalkeeper was destined to be denied a deserved clean sheet as with just seconds left Canales raced clear down the left and drilled the ball across goal for Jonas to bundle home.
