Marseille took over as the new leaders of Ligue 1 courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Nantes, while Bordeaux saw off Le Havre to climb into second.
With Lyon not in action until Sunday, their title rivals took full advantage to increase the pressure at the top of the table.
Renato Civelli and Brandao were on target for
Marseille in the space of five second-half minutes to secure all three points against struggling
Nantes.
Bordeaux brushed aside bottom club
Le Havre with the visitors securing the lead as early as the 12th minute through Yoann Gourcuff.
