Ligue 1 round-up

Lyon remain at the top of Ligue 1 after being held to a goalless draw by title rivals Marseille.

Lyon remain top while Lille and Lorient both climb the table

Defending champions Lyon remain at the top of Ligue 1 after being held to a goalless draw by title rivals Marseille. Victory would have seen Marseille go top on goal difference but the two sides failed to find a breakthrough in a tense affair at the Stade Gerland, which saw just three shots on target. Despite now being four league games without a win, Lyon have extended their lead to three points ahead of Marseille, who crept above Bordeaux and Paris St Germain into second place. Earlier on Sunday, Lille won 1-0 at Nice to leapfrog their opponents and climb into seventh. Midfielder Michel Bastos struck in the seventh minute to score for the fourth straight game and take his goal tally to eight in the league. Lille then stood firm to end a run of three straight draws and they are now unbeaten in five.

Lorient into top half

Lorient climbed to ninth, one place behind Nice, after claiming a 3-1 victory at bottom club Le Havre. Yazid Mansouri and Kevin Gameiro struck in the last five minutes of the first half, and although Nicolas Dieuze pulled one back in the 65th minute, Marama Vahirua struck three minutes later to seal the win. Le Havre's third straight defeat leaves them four points adrift of safety.
