Toulouse and Marseille both victorious

Toulouse continued their impressive start to the season, while Marseille also recorded success. Second-placed Toulouse recorded their fourth straight win as Andre Pierre Gignac struck the only goal of the game against Auxerre. Marseille overcame their recent run of stalemates as they saw off Caen 2-1 at Stade Velodrome. Hatem Ben Arfa opened the scoring for the home side, but Caen pulled level via Steve Savidan's effort. Mamadou Niang was, however, on hand to restore Marseille's advantage before they had to see out the final 20 minutes of the match with 10 men after Zarim Ziani was dismissed. Le Mans left it late to claim victory over struggling Le Havre as Mobido Maiga and Yao Gervinho netted in the 89th and 90th minutes respectively to cancel out Alassane's opener. Bordeaux came from behind to win at Lorient as Menegazzo struck a quick-fire brace, after Michael Ciani had given the home side the lead at Stade du Moustoir. Nantes sealed their second win of the season with Christian Bekamenga hitting the decisive goal of the encounter at Grenoble. Sochaux are off the foot of the table on goal difference following their 1-1 draw at Nice. Olivier Echouafni opened the scoring for the home side at Stade Municipal du Ray before substitute Valter Birsa struck to ensure both teams went away with a point. Elsewhere, a Jacques Abardonado own goal ensured Lille climbed to sixth after they recorded a 1-0 win over Valenciennes.
