Robinson tips duo for the top

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson tipped Patrick Bamford and Dele Alli as stars of the future after Saturday's 4-1 win over Stevenage.

Bamford's brace plus a superb improvised finish from Alli as well as a Shaun Williams penalty handed the Dons a comfortable victory, with Darren Potter's own goal the only blot on their copybook.

And it proved a superb way for the Dons to bounce back from their first defeat of the season at the hands of Peterborough.

Robinson said: "There were question marks after last week in how we would respond but we came back fighting.

"The way we moved the ball around in that first half was sensational.

"Patrick came over to us when he scored his goal because we've pin-pointed his heading as not being one of his strong points.

"There's obviously weaknesses because of his age but he wants to know what they are and he wants to work on them, so he's only going to get better and better.

"And Dele does things in training that I've never seen in my life before.

"He's 17 and he's scoring goals, winning penalties, back-heeling things, nut-megging people, driving inside, winning his tackles and headers and he's got an air of arrogance about him.

"He's one of the best young English players in the country. He's going away with England Under-18s so we're going to miss him for a few games but he's someone who is just going from strength to strength."
