Brentford v Wrexham preview

Brentford could hand Kevin O'Connor a start in midfield as they face struggling Wrexham.

O'Connor pushing for a start

Brentford manager Andy Scott could hand Kevin O'Connor a start in the centre of midfield as his side face struggling Wrexham. O'Connor returned as a late substitute in the 3-1 defeat at Morecambe on Saturday after nine matches out with a hamstring injury and is fit enough to start. That would see either John Mousinho or Gary Smith drop out as Scott looks for a return to winning ways. Young forward Ross Montague remains three weeks away from a return from a back injury while defender Matt Heywood could miss the rest of the season after complications surrounding his rib injury.

Triple boost

Wrexham boss Brian Little has been handed a triple injury boost ahead of the trip to Brentford. Jeff Whitley (knee and virus), Neil Roberts (knee and shin) and Danny Sonner (Achilles) are all expected to be available for selection at Griffin Park after overcoming their various injury problems. And the trio would all appear likely to start as Little looks to add some added experience into a side which has won two of their last three games. Carl Tremarco and Neil Taylor have also overcome knocks sustained in the 2-1 win over Bury last weekend to give Little plenty to ponder.
