Evans targets top six

Steve Evans believes his Rotherham side are capable of a top-six challenge following the performance in their 1-0 defeat to Peterborough.

The Millers suffered their first league defeat in 14 when Grant McCann's penalty sealed the New York Stadium clash, but the hosts dominated the entire match and missed a host of gilt-edged chances. It was a display that Evans ranked above those of the derby successes over Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United and he is confident of a successful season. "The answer is to go and start another journey and if we play like that every week we will have a season to remember," Evans said in relation to their impressive unbeaten run coming to an end. "That was the best performance of the season. "It's been a steady start, but if we play with that effort and commitment we will be up in the play-offs. "We have got everyone pulling in the right direction."
