Champions League: Edin Dzeko on attack ahead of Bayern match

Edin Dzeko believes that Manchester City will provide Bayern Munich with a much tougher test this week than when the teams last met in the Champions League.

City were knocked out at the group stage in the 2011-12 season in a group containing Bayern, Spanish side Villarreal and Italian club Napoli.

But City and the five-time European champions renew hostilities on Wednesday live on Sky Sports and Dzeko is confident of a bold showing in the Group D encounter.

"We've played a few years together and we also have four new players and they've improved the squad," he said. "We don't have to think about the last two years because it's done.

"We didn't get out of the group but we have started this season in the Champions League very well and that's important for the team and the confidence.

"People are expecting us to play on the offensive and that is what we are trying to do with the new manager, to play aggressive, quick and attacking football.

"I think we showed that also against a big club in Manchester United so why shouldn't we go forward with that and be more consistent with those games."
