Doyle cools expectations

Bradford's Nathan Doyle is keen to put the brakes on expectation levels at Valley Parade after the club's impressive start.

The Bantams secured a place back in the third tier for the first time in seven years after their play-off final win over Northampton in May and Saturday's victory over Sheffield United lifted them into sixth place. "The reason why we're in League One is because we won promotion and first and foremost every player in the squad has to keep on doing what they were able to do last season," Doyle said. "That's working hard for each other and putting our bodies on the line day in, day out in training and then on a Saturday and Tuesday. "There's no reason for us not to say we can challenge for the top six again, but at this stage of the season, in a new division, the best approach really is to take one game at a time. "Every chance that comes our way we've got to try and take and if we can nick three points, we'll take them. "We're all working very hard to try and get ourselves in the Championship, but everybody needs to realise we're a promoted side from League Two and this is our first season at this level for several years, so adapting might be difficult and people shouldn't expect too much. "But we've had a good start, except for the sloppiness at Port Vale recently, and apart from that we've started well."
