Sercombe itching to play

Exeter midfielder Liam Sercombe hopes his summer of fitness work will see him return to action fitter and stronger next season.

The Grecian youth product spent four months on the sidelines with an ankle injury he sustained in December and having watched his team-mates miss out on the play-offs Sercombe is itching to return. "I want the season to start now if it could," he told the Express & Echo. "Obviously the other players need a break, but I can't wait for pre-season to start. "I just want to start kicking balls again, get my fitness back and start playing. "I have got no concerns about the ankle and hopefully I can come back fitter and stronger because I will be doing a lot more than I normally would before pre-season."
