Mellon worried by Mangan injury

Fleetwood manager Micky Mellon has admitted striker Andy Mangan's troublesome knee injury is a cause for concern.

The 26-year-old's fine start to the season was curtailed by the problem, leaving him sidelined for Town's last four league matches. Mangan scored on his return to action in a behind-closed-doors friendly against neighbours Blackpool on Tuesday before limping off later on. Mellon told the Gazette: "We aren't quite sure what the injury is and we've been hoping he'd shake it off but he doesn't seem able to. "Each time we think he is over it we give the knee a workout and he seems to have a setback. We need to take a close look at it and really get to the bottom of what the problem is. "I'm not ruling him out for Saturday yet. We'll see how the knee settles down in the next couple of days."
