Stevenage striker Michael Thalassitis has signed a new three-year contract extension with the League One club.

The 19-year old youth-team graduate has also agreed a one-month loan move to Conference side Cambridge and could make his debut at Hereford on Saturday. Thalassitis had a similar loan spell at Hayes last season and scored his first goal for Stevenage against Southampton in the Capital One Cup last month. He told Boro's website: "I'm just hoping to go there, get some first-team games under my belt and score some goals for Cambridge. "It's a good chance for me to play some football and if it can go as well as my other loan moves I'll be happy. "I'm really pleased to have signed a new deal at Boro as well. It's the first club that I have been at professionally and I really enjoy it here, it's like a home to me and we've got a good team that can achieve a lot."
