Former Reading man yet to learn if he will earn a contract

Tony Mowbray has not yet made a decision on whether to offer Cameroon defender Andre Amougou a contract at Middlesbrough. The 27-year-old, who was previously known as Bikey during his time with Reading and Burnley, has been training with the club in recent weeks. Manager Mowbray is looking for cover for long-term injury victim Rhys Williams but is still making up his mind over whether Amougou is the man for the job. "There is nothing to say on Amougou yet," Mowbray told the Gazette. "He is just a boy training with us, an out-of-contract footballer training with us and we will see." Dutch winger Romeo Castelen will definitely not be moving to The Riverside after Mowbray decided not to pursue his interest in the former Feyenoord and Hamburg player. "Castelen hasn't been with us for a few weeks," he said. "We are no longer looking at that one."
