Warner wants Stanley stay

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Tony Warner is eyeing a move to League Two club Accrington after impressing in a trial match.

The much-travelled Trinidad and Tobago international, 38, caught the eye in a friendly against St Mirren at the weekend and after playing with Wellington Phoenix in the Australian A-League last term is hunting a new club in England. Stanley boss Paul Cook needs a striker and a keeper for the new campaign and Warner told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Probably about a month ago I spoke to Cooky in passing and he mentioned that there might be a spot here. "I'm based in Liverpool at the moment so a club in the north west would be ideal. I'd have to talk to Cooky but it's a possibility, although he'd have more of an idea than I would."
