Former Republic of Ireland international looks forward to the season
Crystal Palace captain Paddy McCarthy has signed a new three-year contract with the Championship club.
The 29-year-old defender, who racked up over 50 appearances for the Eagles last season, is now tied to the Selhurst Park club until 2015.
McCarthy said: "I'm delighted; it was something that myself, the manager and the chairman have been talking about for some time so it's great to have it sorted.
Positive
"I thought we made good progression last year and speaking to the manager I know we're going to push on again this season.
"Everything's positive about the place, I'm very happy here and have a great relationship with everybody at the club."
McCarthy signed for Palace in 2008 in a deal with Charlton that saw Mark Hudson move in the opposite direction.
