Goalkeeper Aaran Taylor has left Carlisle after failing to impress the coaches during his three-week trial with the League One club.
The out-of-contract Workington Reds keeper had been bidding to be the third shot-stopper in four years to quit the non-league club for United. Goalkeeping coach Tony Caig told the club's website: "Aaran had a good time with us and I think he enjoyed himself. "He worked very hard and he fitted in well, but we have two very good keepers here and it would be difficult for him to compete at this moment in time. "However, he's one we will be keeping a very close eye on as he has shown us some good things during the time he has spent with us."
