Striker struggling to make Euro opener

Milan Baros may be forced to sit out the Czech Republic's opening game of Euro 2012 after picking up a thigh injury in training. The Galatasaray striker was forced to pull out of Tuesday's session and was sent to visit a hospital in Wroclaw on Wednesday. Fears that Baros had suffered a muscle tear have been eased, but he is still unlikely to figure in a meeting with Russia on Friday. "The medical investigation ruled out a tear or any internal bleeding into the muscle," said team doctor Petr Krejci.

Treatment

"We don't have to fear that the whole tournament is over for Milan. "We take it that the muscle is pulled and will continue with treatment. "On Thursday he will try and be involved in the pre-match training and after that we will decide if he will play on Friday. "As part of the treatment we will try to relieve the muscle pain in many ways, but at the moment I cannot say if he will be able to endure the full training burden on Thursday."
