Rafinha Alcantara has signed a contract with Barcelona that will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2013/14 season.

Teenage starlet will remain until 2013/14

Teenage midfielder Rafinha Alcantara has signed a contract with Barcelona that will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2013/14 season. The Spanish and European champions made the announcement on Monday and explained the terms of the deal with the 18-year-old, who will now leave the junior team for the Barcelona B side. "Rafael Alcantara do Nascimento, 'Rafinha', signed a contract this morning that will keep him at the club until the 2013/14 season, with a buyout clause of €12million until the 2012/13 campaign rising to €30m the following year," reads a statement on Barcelona's official website. Rafinha is the brother of Barcelona first-team regular Thiago and made his debut for Pep Guardiola's side in a 1-0 away victory over Hospitalet in the Copa del Rey on 9th November. The highly-rated attacking midfielder is delighted to have extended his stay with the Catalan giants and has reflected on his appearance for the Blaugrana first team earlier this month. "It's the kind of thing you can't really believe," he enthused. "It's been my dream since I came here when I was just 13 years old - it really was a dream come true."
