Leicester boss says there's been no approach for defender

Sven Goran Eriksson insists Leicester City defender Sol Bamba is not for sale following reports he is close to joining Blackburn Rovers. Bamba only joined Leicester in January from Hibernian and was linked with a £2million move to French giants Marseille earlier in the summer. Eriksson stated at that time there had been no contact from Marseille and that he was determined to keep Bamba at the King Power Stadium. However, Blackburn boss Steve Kean revealed earlier this week that he had made an offer for the 26-year-old and was close agreeing a deal. Those claims have been rebuffed by Eriksson, with the Leicester manager saying there has been no approach and that Bamba is not up for grabs. The Swede told Sky Sports News: "We haven't heard anything from any club at all about Sol Bamba, so I don't know where that's coming from. "And he's not for sale, so that's very easy. He's our player and he remains our player." Leicester have already brought in 10 new signings this summer, including Kasper Schmeichel, Matt Mills, David Nugent and Lee Peltier, but Eriksson hinted that his spending spree may not yet be over. He said: "We're still working on a couple of names but nothing really new. "It might happen, it might not happen. If it's not happening we are rather strong anyhow."
