Goalkeeper wants to ease relegation fears before winter break

Tobias Sippel has set Kaiserslautern the target of earning 10 points before the Bundesliga's winter break in order to ease relegation fears. Last season's German second division champions sit one place above the drop zone after Sunday's loss at Bayer Leverkusen marked a sixth defeat in seven matches. Next on the schedule is Sunday's visit of Stuttgart, who crushed Werder Bremen 6-0 at the weekend to move level on 10 points with Kaiserslautern. Despite what looks like a difficult task, Sippel believes he and his team-mates can register another 10 points from their six matches before the winter break. Asked by his club's official website if he was feeling the strain following their poor start to the campaign, the goalkeeper said: "It's the same pressure we had before the season. "We now have six games to the winter break, in which we should get 10 points. We are still to play against direct competitors such as St Pauli or Nurnberg. "These are teams who we measure ourselves against. The 10 points is a realistic goal that we can achieve."
