Ecuadorian ace keen on Spanish switch

Segundo Castillo is hoping something positive will come from Real Murcia's reported interest in his services. The Spanish side are rumoured to be keen on landing the Ecuador international, following his recent release by Red Star Belgrade. The 27-year-old midfielder did enjoy a spell on loan at Everton last season, but the Toffees decided against making that move permanent. Castillo is, therefore, waiting patiently on offers. He is reported to have received an approach from a Qatar-based side but admits he is holding out for a contract in Europe. "There is an offer from a team in Qatar but I am waiting to see what happens with the interest I have been told about from Murcia, because I would like to stay in Europe," he said. "Having played last year in England, I would prefer to remain in Europe because the leagues are more competitive. "Even though Murcia are in the Spanish second division, I would find it interesting to play there."
