Domenech calls on Pele

Raymond Domenech has added Yohan Pele, Rod Fanni and Jimmy Briand to his French squad.

Fanni and Briand also added to France fold

Raymond Domenech has added Yohan Pele, Rod Fanni and Jimmy Briand to his French squad. With Les Bleus set to face Tunisia in a friendly on Tuesday the coach has looked to replenish his injury-ravaged side. With Hugo Lloris having dropped into the Under-21 fold, Le Mans shot-stopper Pele has been drafted in and could be handed his first senior start. Rennes defender Fanni could stand in for Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna, and would be another making his debut, while his club team-mate Briand will be hoping to take the place of Franck Ribery on the right flank.

Honour

With all three expected to be handed an opportunity to impress at some stage of the contest, Pele admits he is relishing the prospect of pulling on the national jersey. "It's fantastic to be called up to the national team," he told Le Mans' official website. "I forced myself not to think about it earlier as I wanted to give my all to my club. I'm joining the team with a level head, I'm very calm. I'll keep my head down and observe. "It's a real honour to be in the squad with such big players. But it's not an end in itself and I have to keep working hard with Le Mans."
