Derby County are set to release Lee Holmes, Marc Edworthy, Michael Johnson and Ben Hinchcliffe.

Quartet set to leave Pride Park as Jewell begins summer shake-up

Derby County have announced that Lee Holmes, Marc Edworthy, Michael Johnson and Ben Hinchcliffe will leave the club this summer. Boss Paul Jewell has promised a major overhaul of his squad as he looks to build a side capable of challenging for promotion next season, and has told Holmes, Edworthy and Johnson their contracts will not be renewed. Young goalkeeper Hinchliffe, meanwhile, has been informed his contract will be terminated halfway through his two-year deal. Edworthy, 35, was a major part of the promotion campaign last season, but has fallen out of favour this year while Johnson, also 35, will remain at Notts County for one more year having enjoyed a successful loan spell with the club this season. Holmes, 21, has not made a first-team appearance for two years and spent last season on loan with League One side Walsall.
