Goalkeeper desperate for Wembley appearance

Estonia goalkeeper Mart Poom is prepared to play through the pain barrier in order to appear at Wembley on Saturday. Poom is currently struggling with a back injury ahead of Estonia's Group E Euro 2008 qualifier against England, but he is hopeful he will be match fit. The Watford shot-stopper admits he is prepared to do 'whatever it takes' in order to walk out with his Estonia team-mates at Wembley. "I have lived for this game for more than a month because I have been playing with a back injury also at Watford," said Poom.

Opportunity

"Whatever it takes, I'm going to be there. It could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for play at Wembley for me, so obviously I don't want to miss it. "My family are looking forward to it and fingers crossed that I will make it. I hope I can produce a great performance. I dream about it. "I will speak to the medical people and I will try some light training and see how it goes." Poom admits Estonia stand an unlikely chance of success against England, but he is desperate to maintain pride and frustrate Steve McClaren's men.
Nervous
"We just want to be able to leave the pitch with our heads held high and try to make it as hard as possible for England," Poom added. "Every game starts 0-0, and the longer we keep it at 0-0, hopefully England could get nervous and we get some chances on the counter-attack or from pieces. "I know they are massive favourites, because if you look at the Fifa rankings, we are something like 100 places below them. "But anything can happen in one game in football. A draw would be like a win for us."
