Pedersen on prowl in Tigers win

Henrik Pedersen marked his first Championship start for Hull with a brace in the 3-1 win over Ipswich.

Henrik Pedersen marked his first Championship start for Hull City with a brace in the 3-1 home win over Ipswich Town. The experienced Dane, along with former Bolton Wanderers team-mate Jay-Jay Okocha, was a key factor in Hull taking the points. All the goals arrived in a pulsating first half, with Ipswich unfortunate to slip to defeat at The KC Stadium. The visitors came close to grabbing an early lead when midfielder Tommy Miller struck the post before Hull forged ahead on 11 minutes. Okocha fired in a low corner and Pedersen was poised to score his first goal for Hull on his full Championship debut. Ipswich responded and saw Owen Garvan's half-volley hit the upright before Pedersen scored his second on 40 minutes after latching on to a through ball. In the final minute of the half, Hull scored a third as Wayne Brown flicked home Okocha's cross for his first goal since joining from Colchester United. There was still time for Dan Harding's piledriver to fly in from 25 yards, but Ipswich were unable to build on that momentum in the second half.
