Rock-bottom VVV-Venlo's misery increased, as they were hammered 7-0 by Heracles Almelo on Friday night.
Two goals apiece by Glynor Plet and Marko Vejinovic, and other efforts by Kwame Quansah, Everton and Samuel Armenteros saw the hosts run riot, scoring five times in the second half.
Heracles started better, Willy Overtoom shooting just wide from 20 yards, with VVV camped in their own half.
VVV goalkeeper Wilko de Vogt saved from Vejinovic's header but he could do nothing to prevent Heracles' opener 12 minutes before the break.
Lerin Duarte passed to Plet, who slotted home easily from inside the six-yard box.
Penalty appeal
The referee turned down justified Heracles appeals for a penalty following an apparent foul on Quansah but the hosts doubled their lead in the 42nd minute through the same player, who scored with an impressive scissor-kick.
Heracles got their third a quarter-of-an-hour after the break, as Vejinovic drilled in a fierce 25-yard shot which surprised De Vogt.
Plet shot at the goalkeeper before he got his second of the match, shooting home from the left of the area following a pass from Overtoom.
The fifth goal came 14 minutes from time. Armenteros played in Everton, who toe-poked the ball home, and three minutes later it was six, Vejinovic's curled shot deflecting off Marcel Meeuwis into the right-hand corner of the goal.
Armenteros then grabbed a goal of his own in the 82nd minute when he got between two defenders and drilled into the centre of the goal.
