Striker's goal enough to see off Lincoln
Julian Alsop broke Cheltenham's league goalscoring record and eased their relegation fears in a 1-0 win over Lincoln.
The striker fired in a rebound in the 47th minute after Josh Low's left-foot shot was blocked on the line by Paul Green. It was Alsop's 39th goal in two spells with the Robins and he came close to a second late on when he struck the woodwork.
Cheltenham went close just before the interval when Justin Richards' shot was brilliantly cleared off the line by Joe Anderson after a mix-up in the Imps defence.
Earlier the visitors' Davide Somma saw a goal ruled out for offside and the striker also smashed a left foot shot just inches wide.
The Imps peppered Scott Brown's goal from the off with midfielder Matt Saunders drilling a shot just wide and Chris Herd was closer still but his dipping shot was straight at the goalkeeper.
At the other end Alsop's first-time shot drew a save from Rob Burch while Robins winger Medy Elito flashed a volley just wide for the Robins.
